Britain has a long and diverse history, and each era has left its mark. Luckily we have national bodies such as the National Trust and English/Scottish Heritage who have long preserved many historically important buildings and sites, from simple standing stones of circa 3500 BC to colossal castles, cathedrals & palaces. England alone has 370,000 listed buildings!
